Transit wheelchairs are designed to be used whilst moving between destinations for shorter periods of time. They are designed with this in mind so their primary design will focus on features such as transportability, lightness of the frame and folding varieties. Even ones that fold and can be transported in thier own shoulder bag. Folding transit wheelchairs easily fit into the boot of any small vehicle.
They do require someone to push them (attendant operated) which allows the design and size of the wheels to be much smaller than self propelled wheelchairs. They are not designed with comfort in mind so no fancy suspension or cushioned seats here as standard.
